Thanks for your reply. I've done a search several times for Syracuse but never found anyone that specializes in testing for adult add. I did find Dr.Gant in one of my searches and thought I had found someone but decided to google him and found that his license had been suspended for gross negligence! That ruled him out right away! Other than that I've looked in the yellow pages, internet, etc and have found no one that specifically says they help or test for adults with add. I don't know anyone that has been diagnosed with adult add to ask either. I've been looking off and on for at least 5 years. I get discouraged and just let it go for awhile and then when the symtoms get so bad they drive me crazy I start searching again but always hit a brick wall. It's very discouraging. If anyone else out there is from Syracuse or close surrounding area and has had good luck with being diagnosed and treated please share that info with me. I would be forever greatful. Thanks again Joyce!
I am looking for a Dr. that can test me for ADD in Syracuse,NY. My family Dr.put me on Concerta several years ago and it really seemed to help but I was disturbed by the fact that he just gave me the meds because I told him I thought I was ADD. I stopped taking the meds but really need to get some help. My ADD symtoms just seem to be getting worse as I get older. My concentration level is ZERO! Thanks!Hi Colleen...
You could do a web search, or call around....maybe dial 211 - they are equipped to provide referrals for a variety of special services.
I did a quick search, and found the following doctor in Syracuse. He might not be your 'cup of tea'.....but it's a start.

I live in Rochester.....just a hop down the road!

Colleen.....don't give up. A reputable, knowledgable psychiatrist should be able to help. While it would be nice to find one who 'specializes', ADD/ADHD is not all that unusual.
Good luck!
