GPK - on dexedrine I did - or do actually!
My doc diagnosed me with IBS (Irritible Bowel Syndrome) from the meds. He said they are finding that it causes the lining of the digestive system to rythmically contract against the wave. It was for me like "runner's cramps" - along my kidney line, and sometimes in my stomach as well. Mostly my small intestines though.
I'm on dicetel now - which is a good med for IBS. Best part - no side effects or chance of harm! You can actually take as much as needed - on the website for the med they mention the tests they put it through the lab animals had over 1200 percent more than normal dose and only got farts!
I find that the cramps are worst if you take on empty stomach a couple of hours after eating. It seems to back up my system - and probably irritates my stomach lining. When possible, I eat a small thing at the taking of the meds, and nibble all day. I also take the advice on the script and drink a whole glass of water with it. The amphetamines tend to make you lose water fast so that can also annoy your gut.
Hope this helps - can't say this is you but I have a hunch...
Glen
Can't say that I do, sorry. Did you take your meds on an empty stomach? Some people find that if they take their meds without eating they get stomach pains. Or are there any possible foods that are upsetting your stomach? Does anybody else get stomach pain from stimulant meds? The last 3 times I took adderall my stomach was killing me. Thanks Glen. The stomach pain comes a couple hours after taking the med- XR. Maybe I'm gonna request a lower adderall dose or a different med altogether. Stomach pain is just one of many side effects on adderall. Curious about how Strattera feels.Hate to break this to you kid - but strattera is more well known for stomach pain than any other ADD med. I felt on the stuff like I'd chewed glass - and felt like that for a couple of weeks until I went off it. Again - the MD said I should eat small meals and nibble all day - but sometimes at my work it's just not possible.
You may find that different - but I've seen several postings this last month about the stomach troubles of strattera.
