Metadate CD | ADHD Information

My 7 year old son was on Adderall XR for 2 months.  We had to take him off of this med because he began displaying signs of extreme angry.  Example: holding his breath, squeezing hands, throwing items, pulling his hair, screaming, pinching his skin until it was black/blue.  This happened every evening after the meds wore off.  Our doctor wants me to try METADATE CD 10mg.  Had anyone used this on their child?  Can you give me info on their side effects?  We are new to ADHD...............

Thank you for responding.  My son started MetadateCD over the weekend so that we can keep on eye on him.  His anger seems better when it wears off.  As for the appetite, he makes up for it during dinner.  Yes, it's very important to give them a big, healthy breakfast too.  Have a great week and thanks for your help.  Lori

My daughter is taking MetadateCD. She started out on ten mg and it help for a while, then we moved up to 20 mg, now we are taking 30 mg. The thing I have notice the most is lost of appti. The doctor she for me to get her to eat a good breakfast. When the med wears off she starts telling on others a lot, and not paying atten. Sometimes she is whining. If she has not had a enough rest. She is five. She also has ODD. I am pretty pleased with this . We were on Adderall and it did not help at all.I hope I have help. AmieeLori, Jennifer also makes up at dinner and after.
