Bulimia/Over-Eating Due to "Boredom" | ADHD Information

Does anyone else eat solely due to how crazy-insane you can become when you're bored only to have to go & puke later because you are so full from being bored for so long?  I know this is narcissistic.Yeah. Of course I totally agree.  I don't much relish the thought of losing all my teeth--they already suffer from previous use of vasocontrictors & just plain old ancient dental work.  I'm wanting to go see my psychiatrist & get back on Adderall and wondering if that would rid me of "the boredom factor".  Thanks so much for your heartfelt reply.

No, this is one problem I don't have. I think it's serious enough, however, that you should seek help in coming to terms with it. While there are some things that peers with similar problems can help you deal with, I think an eating disorder requires at least the initial intervention of a professional. I say that because I doubt the reasons for it are simple enough to be able to get at without some good professional help. And it's serious enough, as I'm sure you know, that if it goes on long enough, it can and often will kill you.

I'm not trying to scare you and am saying this to you as an educational psychologist. If you're not already getting professional help for this problem, I strongly recommend that you do before you run into serious medical problems such as esophogeoverises (hemorrage of the esophagus from throwing up). Trust me, they can sneak up on you faster than you can imagine. Take care of yourself, girlfriend!
