Adderall has no effect

5 mg is really not a lot. He may need a higher dose. I would definitely call the DR and report the ineffectiveness of 5 mg. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice.  Today is much better than yesterday!  I AM seeing lots of results--oh boy can I tell a difference when I do and don't take it!  Its just the headaches and flushed feeling I get in the afternoon.  Amazingly though, today as of right now, I don't have those side effects.  I ate a big breakfast and lunch...and took some headache meds with my Adderall this morning.  I thik eating is the key--hungry or not, you must make yourself eat.  I know that's hard.  I don't even want to look at food when I am not hungry. 

I hope this works b/c I hate changing meds--I want to find something that works and stick with it!  Thanks again! 

I am taking Adderall 20mg/day once a day--the extended dose, but I am an adult.  However, I have cousin that is in the 10th grade and he stated out at 10mg/day and moved up from there.  I saw an improvement in the first day or two, so if you don't see any improvement soon, I would call the doctor. 

My son is 5yrs old and has started taking Adderall for one week now.   He's only taking 5mg once a day.  This drug has had no effect on him whatsoever.  Should I be seeing any effects by now?  He hasn't lost his appetite and he's sleeping fine (and through the night).  And, he's still bouncing off the walls at the speed of light and can't focus on one single thing for more than 2 minutes.  HELP!  Should his dosage be upped?
