heart problems | ADHD Information

IF U HAVE YOUR CHILD ON MEDICINE HAVE THEIR DR DO TEST TO CHECK OUT THEIR HEART. EVERYONE WAS SO EAGER TO PUSH MEDICINE ON MY SON AND HE DEVELOPED A HEART CONDITION WHILE TAKIN ADDERALL. HE STOPPED THE MEDICINE AND HIS HEART IS FINE AGAIN. STATISTICS SAY THERE IS ONLY A FEW CAUSES OF CARDIAC ARRESTS IN TAKING THIS MEDICINE BUT U SURE DONT WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE IN ON THE STATISTIC. THEY WANT ME TO PUT HIM ON STATERRA NOW BUT I THINK IM FINDING ANOTHER WAY OF HELPING MY CHILD. Strattera has mostly helped our son with  attention but not his LD. These drugs from what I read will make little difference if a Ld is a issue. This was in How to learn.com and hallelua acres I read. I agree !It didn't for me. Ld is that childs style is different than public school teaches. I think some of the behavior is cause they just don't get how it's being taught. Ld kids to me need things made easy in smaller class sizes, more breaks, lots of hands on method/auditory method which is opposite from public teaching methods. This is how both my son and I both are.

I am so glad your son's heart has healed itself--that must of been a scary time for your family.  Meds are not the be-all-end-all when treating the symptoms of ADHD--check out the "Alternative and Complmentary Forum" it is loaded with helpful information.
