I like that quote a lot!

I'm reading a tremendous book called Learning Outside the Lines, written by two college students from Brown, one who is ADHD and one who is LD.  They discuss the terrible experiences they had in elementary and high school, and how they overcame these experiences to become Brown graduates.  Edward Hallowell, the author of Driven to Distraction, wrote the forward and he said something that moved me, an "ex-educator", tremendously:

"Give thanks to the people who have known, intuitively, for thousands of years, that there is more to learning and achievement than simply trying harder, that there is more to reaching goals than simply buckling down, that there is more to making a difference in life than just learning to conform, and that the best, most valuable thoughts and ideas come co-mingled with the messiest and least accessible."

Amen!  I literally am going to frame that and put it on my wall.
