Has anyone tried this method of treatment for their child? I am currently investigating neuro-biofeedback for the treatment of my 8 year old ADHD son.
If you have any info, please let me know good or bad.
We tried neuro-biofeedback with my son who was 6.5 at the time for one year. We feel he didn't get anything out of it. He hated going and it was a fight just to get him into the office. I also feel that the Dr. was not very child friendly and that could have had something to do with his behavior in the office.
Hi,
My 17 year old son is currently recieving neurofeedback treatments. I saw positive changes after the first few sessions. After about 12 sessions he was not going as frequently (was doing it 3-4 times a week) so it didn't seem to work as well. He is starting back again this week 3 times a week and hoping this will be consistent. My son reports he feels better and refreshed after each session.
He has depression, ADD, and a non verbal learning disability. He has had a lot of trouble with medication side effects, especially with stimulants, which is why we turned to neurofeedback.
Went and saw the psychiatrist who uses bio here in Brisbane - after 0 for half hour session (b4 she even spoke with my son) I decided that I would just stick with the meds and save my money. It sounded good - but value for money was questionable - I think that my son would benefit more from attending a footy club etc.Hi,
Just wanted to say that I am right now in the process of trying this for my 9 year old boy. One of my husband's friend has tried this on this teen-age son and has had tremendous success with it. I decided to go with it after talking to him.
I willd definitely keep you all posted on my experience after trying out a few sessions. I found out that our insurance covers the initial 8-10 sessions of it and the Psychologist who is running this therapy said that effect will be seen within 10-15 sessions. So, I have nothing much to loose..
Thanks for this wonderful forum and thanks for sharing your views on this.
May God bless,
MM
