finding class/classroom nightmare | ADHD Information

I dream that I don't know what class I'm suppose to be in....can't find my locker...find locker then can't remember combination....get combination and locker has tons of stuff in it that shouldn't be there.  Get out books and realize I haven't gone to any of the classes ...haven't done any of the assignments...and today is the test.

I'm 45 yr old....I dream that I have to go back to High School...and try to fit in...I didn't even fit in when I was in High School!?!

I have had dreams like that since I started school.

The worst part for me is one actually came true!   I had a major test in college and couldn't find the room where it was taken. I couldn't even find where I had written the room number in my notes. Missing the test meant an automatic flunking of the course.

I did miss the test but when I went in to beg the teacher for another chance, he was wonderful. I didn't know about my ADHD then so I told him I thought I was having a nervous breakdown and was going to a dr for help.    He was very nice about it and let me take it privately, but I wasn't allowed to tell anyone else in the class.  

My dreams are about what happened in school, I was at the reception on a regular basis asking where I was suppossed to be, that was if i hadn't managed to find a friend who knew where i was suppossed to be. I keep having a dream where i turn up to physical education with no kit, that also happened on a regular basis. I had forgetten until reading your post that I failed my maths exam because I had forgotton to go to the exam....lol. Yikes my memories bad. Forgot to bring a calcular to my pysiks exam, forgot to use my extra time for my english exam..etc. *shivers* and I'm going to uni why? hmm face my fears....

And mine involves taking a test for a class I never attended, don't have the book for, and am not even sure what the name of the class is!

I never had the right books, I'd turn up with a bag but no books, no pens, no kit and and no lunch money. My teachers would get HIGHLY anoiyed with me, one wrote in big black marker accross my book infornt of the onlooking class 'do not foget me'. ENDLESS detentions.
I've probably had the missing classes dream, I don't remember. I do, however, nearly always have a dream about missing some big event, in the days or weeks leading up to that event. For example, I was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding last summer, and I had a dream that we were all getting dressed and ready for the wedding, but I remembered I hadn't bought my dress yet. I tried going to the store to find the same one, but I couldn't find it or even anything similar. I kept thinking I would have to stand at the front of the church in jeans and a t-shirt. I was also panicking about not having enough time to do my hair and makeup. Next thing I knew the wedding was done and I'd missed the whole thing. I woke up feeling horrible that I'd missed my friend's wedding like that, until I realized it had just been a dream.

I have a lot of reoccurring dreams about missing flights though. It's weird. The dream will start out with me being all excited about going on a trip, and everything will go steadily wrong until I wake up, and I never, ever, EVER actually make it onto the plane. I'll forget to pack and end up scrambling 10 minutes before my flight, or I'll get lost in the parking lot, or I'll show up at the airport and no one will be there to check me in, or I'll get lost in the airport. Sometimes I'll be able to see the plane out on the tarmac and just never be able to get to it. I've had dreams where I've been on a plane, but I always start out on the plane already. It's the weirdest thing.

Yep, my dream is about a class that I seem to be enrolled in.  In my dream, it's vaguely familiar -- it seems I've been to it a couple times, but now I don't know what classroom it's in or at what time, and I walk endlessly around the school looking for it.  I dream this about once a month (and it's been twenty years since I've been in school).

bcgirl1978, I also tend to have those dreams about not making it to the Airport in time, or being on a plane already going somewhere.  I never have them where I get on a plane. 

Actually tell a lie I did once, but then I had to get off because my Mother was not on the plane - she was off making sandwiches or something.

Got back to the plane and it was taxiing off :/

As for classrooms, think I've had a nightmare like that once or twice.
