Adderall Sternum Pain? | ADHD Information

Share

So, I just started taking Adderall XR again after a long break from it for the summer.  Starting back up with the first day of school, and having minor chest pains in my sternum region.

I'm 17 years old.  Blood pressure floats between 72-80/120-135 on and off of Adderall.  Never smoked.  Never abused the drug (I have alot of respect for it).  I've been using it since I was a kid...11 years old?  I've never had a problem until now.  I'm on a 30mg pill.

It hurt a little bit yesterday when I did not take the medecine, whenever I would stretch or breathe in really deep.  I took it today, and I'm feeling it again.  When I touch it, I think I can feel the pain.  It usually feels worse whenever I work out.    Could it be anxiety induced?

Any answers?  I've heard of heart problems being linked to the medecine, but I mean, I'm 17.

SGTS3XY39306.8243287037EKG is pretty standard before Rxing meds. Call your Psych, or Dr and stop taking them until then.[QUOTE=SGTS3XY]

If you have been taking adderall since you were young and didn't have these problems before, I would assume that ist was anxiety induced. This happened to my son as well, only he was taking focalin.

I had him see a pediatric cardliologist to be sure. A simple EKG and untra sound of the heart showed nothing wrong.

Ask your parents if they can get your doctor to refer you to a specalist for further examination if you are this concerned.

Another reason why I am completely against stimulants now, and will not prescribe it when I'm a doctor one day.  After all, I'm going into cardiology myself.
