Penile discharge from my Strattera | ADHD Information

Stimulants can relax smooth muscles, perhaps you are seeing that. Ive heard this is a side effect men have noticed with adderall, as well. I'm not sure if it is something that you'd have with ritalin though, so that may be something to check into.

There are ever so many threads on this, http://www.adhdnews.com/forum/search.asp?KW=Strattera&SM =1&SI=TC&FM=2&OB=1.

Yes this is a common Strattera problem (although I have never heard of Adderall doing this.)

I am brand new to taking Strattera.  I am 30 years old male, and my psych prescribed me this drug on February 8th, 2005.  I'm familiar with Adderall, and I'm not so impressed with it at all.  I hate the side-effects.  Strattera has no side-effects for me, but one morning, I was using the bathroom, and I noticed a semen like discharge coming from my penis.  This concerned me, and my psyche told me that this is a side-effect of Strattera.  This discharge hasn't happened since then.

Basically, I'm not noticing much with Strattera.  I heard that it takes a long time to work - just like other psyche drugs like Zoloft/Prozac.  How long does it take Strattera to work?  I'm on my day 8 now, and I'm taking 40 mgs.

My email address is shyamadams@yahoo.com.  Thanks and good luck to all.

the receptors in your brain need time to adjust their numbers.
the therapeutic range for strattera is between 100-120 mg. so
you might have a ways to go.

it took me 3 months to get to the proper range on strattera and
aparently strattera works the problem is the side effects are so
intolerable for s many people that they discontinue using it
before they can see the benefitsMy 7yr. old took Strattera for a while, until he started flippin' out on me. He was talking to the "man" who lived in his closet, started telling me his room was on fire,&worst of all, started having facial ticks. When I reported this to his doc.,he just said I was paranoid and Cree just had allergies & was to lazy to scratch, so he twitched. After that, they increased the dosage and Cree slept all day. He kept falling asleep in school. Of couse that was "my fault." He goes to bed between 8 or 9pm,and he was in the afternoon class, so he got plenty of sleep. Finally,I took him off of it& 3weeks later, the twitching stopped,we had a new doctor, & new medicine.Concerta now. Cree came home last week with 100% on his spelling test&his book report! I have a lot of trouble with concentrating on anything. Even sleeping. After we talked about my history in school, he said that I was a little to old for this ADHD thing,so maybe i'm just depressed. I'm only 35. Since when is that old? My husband is 55,& I don't even think that's old either. He did offer me Strattera though. NO WAY dude!
